Bikeable Walkable Livable Cities

They accomplish at least 13 things:

  1. Quality of life

  2. Reduction of time spent in autos

  3. Tighter bonds with neighbors and community members (you see people when you are walking)

  4. Less death and injury due to autos.

  5. Cleaner air

  6. Better health from exercise

  7. Less noise

  8. Higher real estate values (almost immediately)

  9. More green space for trees

  10. Better commerce opportunities - you can walk to a restaurant, have a few drinks, and walk home.

  11. More equitable. People without a lot of money do not have to rely on cars.

  12. Better financially. Save and invest money otherwise spent on vehicles.

  13. A feeling like you are 10 years old again, zooming around on your bike, even if you cheat a little on the hills with an e-bike.
